WATCH: Sanders Tells ‘The Squad’ Electing Biden Is The Beginning Of Pushing Their Agenda: “We’re not retreating!”

Self-described Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders spoke to the ‘The Squad’ members, lawmakers Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib on Friday in a virtual roundtable discussion about their plans should liberal presidential candidate Joe Biden win.

Sanders told the four congresswomen that the election of Biden would not be the “end-all,” but the beginning of their plans to enact their radical agenda, making the former vice president the “most progressive president since FDR.”

“But we understand that electing Biden is not the end-all. It is the beginning,” the Vermont senator said, while applauding the four women politicians for their effort in making Biden’s plans “much more stronger” than they were during the primary. Sanders specifically mentioned AOC’s hard work on the Climate Change Task Force.

“Do they [Biden’s plans] go as far as we would want? No, they don’t,” Sanders said, adding that “Biden, unlike Trump, does not conceive of himself as a dictator.”

“That means, you’ve got your job in the house, I’ve got my job with others in the senate,” he ensured the group.

He went on saying, they’re “not giving up on their agenda,” citing Biden’s plans to expand the Health care, double funding of the community health centers, and others as examples, which are only possible through the introduction of “Medicare for All,” Sander’s policy.

According to Bernie Sander’s website:

“We should be spending money on doctors, nurses, mental health specialists, dentists, and other professionals who provide services to people and improve their lives. We must invest in the development of new drugs and technologies that cure disease and alleviate pain—not wasting hundreds of billions of dollars a year on profiteering, huge executive compensation packages, and outrageous administrative costs.”

Sanders also talked about the “Green New Deal” as the new approach to address climate change, so they need to be “bolder than ever before.”

“We could create millions of good-paying jobs as we do it. We’re gonna go forward on that issue. On criminal justice… on immigration. We’re not retreating,” he promised.

But in order to fulfill of these, according to Sanders, is that they have to “defeat the worst president in the modern history in this country” first and foremost.

“And number two, we organize our people to make sure that Biden becomes the most progressive president since FDR,” Sanders concluded while the four politicians were smiling.
